Editorial Policy & How We Review

At Aura Wellness, our job is to help you make confident, well-informed choices about your health — from everyday habits to the products you decide to try. This page explains who we are, how we create our content, how we review products, and the standards we hold ourselves to on every single article.

Our editorial mission

Aura Wellness exists to make trustworthy health and wellness information easy to understand and genuinely useful. We cover topics like mental health, sleep, nutrition, fitness, men’s and women’s health, and we review wellness products such as CBD, supplements, and telehealth services. Whatever the topic, our commitment is the same: to be accurate, balanced, and honest — never to sell you on hype.

We know that health decisions are personal and sometimes high-stakes. That responsibility guides everything we publish. We would rather tell you a product is average than overstate its benefits to earn a commission.

Who creates our content

Our articles and reviews are produced by a team of experienced health and wellness writers, editors, and researchers. Every article is published under a named author byline so you can see who wrote it, and each piece passes through an editorial review before it goes live.

We want to be transparent about one thing in particular: our writers are skilled health communicators, not licensed physicians, and we never present them as such. We do not invent medical titles or fabricate credentials. Instead, when accuracy matters, we ground our content in guidance from established, authoritative sources — not personal opinion. For anything that affects your health, your own doctor or qualified healthcare provider is always the right person to consult.

How we create our articles

Every informational article on Aura Wellness follows the same process:

  • Research first. We build our content on reputable, up-to-date sources — peer-reviewed studies and guidance from institutions such as the CDC, NIH, WHO, and Mayo Clinic — rather than anecdote or trends.
  • Plain language, no fear-mongering. We explain things clearly and calmly. We avoid scare tactics, miracle claims, and exaggerated promises.
  • Fact-checked. Claims are verified against their sources before publishing. If the evidence is mixed or limited, we say so.
  • Kept current. Health guidance evolves. We revisit and update articles so the information stays accurate over time, and we date each update.

How we review products

Product reviews carry extra responsibility, so they follow a stricter standard. Our reviews are built on independent research and verifiable facts — not on what a brand tells us about itself. For each product we assess, we look at:

  • Safety & quality. Manufacturing standards, ingredient quality, and any known safety concerns or recalls.
  • Third-party lab testing. For supplements and CBD, we look for current, published Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from independent labs that confirm potency and screen for contaminants. A brand that won’t share its testing is a red flag we’ll point out.
  • Ingredients & formulation. What’s actually in the product, in what amounts, and whether the evidence supports the claims made about it.
  • Transparency & compliance. Honest labeling, realistic marketing, and — for telehealth and health services — proper licensing and clear policies.
  • Value for money. Price compared to comparable products, subscription terms, and refund or return policies.
  • Real customer experience. Patterns in verified customer feedback, shipping, and support — the good and the bad.

Where hands-on evaluation is possible, we include it. Where it isn’t, we’re clear that our assessment is research-based. We aim to give you a complete, realistic picture so you can decide what’s right for you.

Editorial independence & how we make money

Affiliate disclosure. Aura Wellness earns revenue through affiliate partnerships. When you buy a product through some of the links on our site, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep our content free.

Crucially, these partnerships never determine our opinion. We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review, and a brand cannot buy a higher rating. Our recommendations are based on the criteria above, and we’re willing to point out a product’s flaws — or advise against it — regardless of any commercial relationship.

Medical disclaimer

The content on Aura Wellness is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider before starting a new supplement, treatment, or wellness routine — especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition. Statements about dietary supplements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and these products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Fact-checking, sources & corrections

We take accuracy seriously. Our articles draw on credible, authoritative sources, and we prefer primary research and recognized health institutions over secondhand summaries. If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. When an error is brought to our attention and verified, we correct it promptly and transparently, and we update the article’s revision date.

We also review our content regularly to keep it aligned with current health guidance. Any material update is reflected in the “Updated” date shown on the article.
